Cora Cressy
The
FARM TOUR
OYSTERS, PROHIBITION, & LORE
AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST IN WINTER | CALL OR EMAIL TO BOOK
Step into Maine's coastal underbelly, where delicious oysters and sunken ships go hand-in-hand!
This working waterfront tour unveils one of Maine's most iconic shipwrecks: the Cora F. Cressy. She's a crumbling, 5-mast schooner that was once a coal runner and Prohibition-era gambling den. The team at Community Shellfish will introduce you to Cora and the many rumors of her checkered past. You'll continue down the working waterfront to explore their oyster farm: an old lobster pound that now grows "Cora Cressy" oysters. And that's not all—there's a lesser-known oyster species you'll meet living secretly on the flats!
After the walking tour, you'll be seated at an outdoor table to indulge in half a dozen oysters. We will teach you how to shuck, and pair the oysters with a mocktail made by our local Bremen team!
This tour is like no other in Maine—it's local access to some of Maine's most coveted treasures.
